WEEK 25: BUY COMPONENT OF MY PROJECT

Objective:
To buy all the part that need for my project.

Procedure:
1) Go to Jalan Pasar to buy some component that i need for my project
2) Check all the component that is suitable for my project that had been listed before.

Result:
After going to Jalan Pasar. The electronic part i buy is:-
1) Arduino Uno
2) Solar panel
3) Real Time clock, RTC
4) Water Pump Motor
5) Relay
6) Charger Controller
7) Inverter
8) 2 meter Cable.

Conclusion:
After buy component at jalan pasar. The component that i need for my project is all at jalan pasar.

WEEK 24: FUNCTION OF INVERTER

Objective: 
To know the function of inverter.

Procedure:
1) Search google about the function of charger contoller.
2) State in the result about the function of charger controller.

Result:
A power inverter, or inverter, is an electronic device or circuitry that changes direct current (DC) to alternating current (AC). The input voltage, output voltage and frequency, and overall power handling depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry. The inverter does not produce any power. The power is provided by the DC source as my project use battery that supply direct current (DC). A power inverter can be entirely electronic or may be a combination of mechanical effects (such as a rotary apparatus) and electronic circuitry. Static inverters do not use moving parts in the conversion process.

Conclusion
After make some research about inverter. We know that inverter function is to invert direct current DC to alternate current AC as been explain in the result above.

WEEK 23: PART INSIDE CHARGER CONTROLLER.


Objective: 
To see what inside the charger controller.

Procedure: 
1) Search internet about part inside the charger controller.

Result:

Conclusion:
The part inside charger controller we can see in the result above. 



WEEK 22: MAKE SOME RESEARCH ABOUT CHARGER CONTROLLER.


Objective: 
To make some research on charger controller.

Procedure: 
1) Search on internet about what the function of charger controller in my project


Result:
1) The function charger controller is to limits the rate at which electric current is added to or drown from electric battery. Its prevents overcharging and may protect against overvoltage which can reduce battery performance or lifespan, and may pose a safety risk. It may also prevent completely draining a battery or perform controlled discharges. The term charger controller may refer to either a stand-alone device, or to control circuitry integrated within a battery pack, battery power device or battery charger.


Conclusion: 
After make some research about the function of charger controller. what i can conclude that is charger controller important in my project as my project are using Solar panel and battery. To charge the battery by using solar panel, charger controller needed so it can prevent from overcharge or overvoltage. 

WEEK 21: MEETING WITH SUPERVISOR


Objective: 
To discuss with the supervisor about my new project process.

Procedure: 
1) Meet with supervisor
2) Discuss about what the part need on my new project.

Result: 
The new final year project need is :-
1)  Solar Panel
2) Charger Controller
3) 12V Battery
4) Arduino Uno
5) Relay
6) Real Time Clock, RTC
7) Inverter
8) Water pump motor
9) Pipe
10) Bucket

Conclusion:
1) Supervisor give some idea about my part need in my Final Year Project
2) The Part need to buy to complete my project.
3) Next week i need to make some research about my project part starting with charger controller.

WEEK 20: PRESENT NEW PROJECT TITLE TO MY SUPERVISOR.


Objective: To present new project title to supervisor to replace my recent project title.


Result: Present new project to my supervisor. List of title present to supervisor:-

1) Automatic Reserve parking 
2) Electric saving by arduino
3) Automatic Agriculture Watering System By Using Solar

This are the list title that i presented to my supervisor. 


Conclusion: After present with the supervisor of all my list. my supervisor choose the Automatic Agriculture Watering System By Using Solar is my new project title to replace my previous project Fiber Optic Photovoltaic.

WEEK 19: MEETING WITH SUPERVISOR.


Objective: To discuss with supervisor about recent experiment about tinted at the surface of solar panel.

Result: Meeting with supervisor, the result is to change my Final Year Project title. Thus, i need to find another project title to replace my previous title.


Conclusion:  After meeting with supervisor. the thing i need to do is to search another title project to replace the recent project. Thus, i need more research on internet to find the suitable title to present with my supervisor. 

WEEK 18: DOING EXPERIMENT ON TINTED OF SOLAR PANEL SURFACE


Objective: To make an experiment to replace fiber optic by tinted the surface of solar panel to filtrate the UV from the sun light.


Result: After tinted the solar panel. The solar panel surface become dim. Thus the light for the sun light had been filter by tinted surface thus it effect the output of photovoltaic. 



Conclusion: After had the result, the tinted on surface of solar panel is not suitable to replace the fibre optic. Thus, i need to see my supervisor to discuss about this result and further progress.

WEEK 17: MEETING WITH SUPERVISOR AFTER THE EXPERIMENT.


Objective: To discuss with supervisor about my project after got negative result about fiber optic.



Result: After meet with supervisor and discuss about my project. Supervisor told me to change the fiber optic into something that can transmit and filtrate UV light. One of the idea is by tinted the solar panel surface. 


Conclusion: After meeting with supervisor. i need to improve my project and make some experiment to replace fiber optic. One of the experiment i need to do is by tinted the solar panel surface.

WEEK 16: EXPERIMENT ON FIBER OPTIC TRANSMISSION


Objective: To make an experiment on Fiber Optic to satisfy my objective theory in fyp 1. 


Result: After meeting with TM fiber optic technician, they said that fiber optic can't transmit sun light because fiber optic just only can transmit laser light as shown in figure below.


Laser tester to test the polarity and licking of fiber optic.

Coclusion: After done the experiment of fiber optic. The result obtain is negative. The result is not as the theory from fyp 1. Thus this project must be totally change.

WEEK 15: STARTING NEW SEMESTER


Objective: To meet my supervisor for the project after long day semester break.





Method: 1) ask about my project about fiber optic transmission medium
                2) i need to do some experiment on the transmission of the fiber optic that must be 
                    transfer the sun light into fiber optic


Conclusion: After meet my supervisor. i need to do some research on the fiber optic that must be 
                     satisfy on my project objective.

WEEK 14: MY FINAL DRAWING PROJECT.

Objective:
      1)      To draw a final project
      2)   To ask my final design project to my supervisor Sir Ahmad Zaki Bin ABD. Karim.


Result:

1)My project design
2) My supervisor agreed with my final design for my Project

Conclusion:
After design my final project. my Supervisor agreed with this drawing project. this project will be build in next semester in FYP 2.
WEEK 13: FYP 1 PRESENTATION DAY.

Objective:

      1)      To present my project idea to assessor
      2)      To explain how my project work to assessor.


Result:

1) The present is going well
2) explain well about my project to my assessor
3) assessor give some advise about my project.

Conclusion:

the presentation was going well as the assessor give a green light to proceed my project to FYP2. some advise had been take from assessor about my project to improve it. The prentent going well until the end of the presentation.
WEEK 12: PREAPARE FOR THE FYP PRESENTATION.

Objective:
      1)     To prepare the slide for presentation.
      2)      To build a suitable block diagram introduction, methodology, Gantt chart, conclusion, abstract.


Result:




Conclusion:
The preparation of FYP 1 presentation was prepared well. All the requirement was well prepared in the slide. after that, same mistake had been clear by my supervisor.
WEEK 11: TAKE SOME ADVICE FROM MY SUPERVISOR ABOUT MY PROJECT DESIGN.

Objective:
      1)      To meet my supervisor Sir Ahmad Zaki to take same suggestion about my project design.
      2)      To ask some quition and problem about my project design.


Result:
        1)      An advise from my Supervisor about my project design that should make some changing that             was from the coolant to use a small motor just enough for the water to flow.
        2)      Some problem  had been solve and answered from my supervisor.

Conclusion:

Sometime the project had a problem that cant be solve. Thus, it time to meet supervisor to ask a problem regarding project. All problem and question all been solve 
WEEK 10: TO SEARCH ABOUT THE FRESNEL LENS

Objective:
      1)      To research how the frensel lens work. 
      2)      To make it suitable to install to my project.

Result:
      1)      To install this frensel lens into my project. Its need a very fix distance so that its can focus the sun light to the fiber optic.
      2)      The light from the fiber optic should have to DIVERGE so that the light will touch all the solar panel surface.


Conclusion:
     This frensel light is to diverve and concurve the light so that it can give the coefficient light to the fiber optic and into PV solar panel so that the solar panel can give a consistence output.
WEEK 9: TO SEARCH THE SUILTABLE TYPE OF FIBER OPTIC.

Objective:
    1)   To search the type of Fiber Optic that suitable for this Project
    2)   To know how much the fiber optic can transfer light.

Result:
    1)  There are many type of fiber optic such single core, multiple core and etc.
    2)  The more core the fiber optic inside the cable, the more it will transfer the light.






Conclusion

The choose the better fiber optic. It must have a good reflection of light. Thus, the ggod fiber optic is multimode fiber optic.
WEEK 8: TO DESIGN THE SUITABLE COOLENT FOR FIBER OPTIC

Objective:
     1)      To design the suitable coolant for fiber optic Photovoltaic
     2)      To choose material in built coolant.

Result:
     1)      The coolant system has motor to make the water flow.
     2)      The water will going through the water for filtering process.







Conclusion:

This coolant is for filtering process of fiber optic. Water will keep flow by using water pump. Then, the water will flow through the fiber optic for the filtering process. The filtering process is to expected to trap the IR ray from the sun.

WEEK 7: TO STUDY THE EFFICIENCY OF PV PANEL

Objective:

1) To study the efficiency of the PV solar panel.


Result:
1)Solar cell efficiency may be broken down into reflectance efficiency, thermodynamic efficiency, charge carrier separation efficiency and conductive efficiency. The overall efficiency is the product of these individual metrics.

2) the solar PV panel also will be effect by increase of the temperature at solar panel. this can be show at the Schematic data sheet of PV soar panel.

3) the graph below show the effect of the temperature to the output of solar panel.


Conclusion:
PV solar panel change the light into electricity. But there had a problem when the temperature is increasing, its will effect the output of this solar panel. Thus, this problem had to overcome to provide the efficiency of PV panel.

WEEK 6: To Study How Photovoltaic process.


Objective:

 1) To know how the system of photovoltaic.
2) To study how the photovoltaic can convert the Sun light into electricity.


Method:

1) Searching the info in the internet about the photovoltaic process.

2) Ask my supervisor about the photovoltaic.

3) Watch in youtube how the system of photovoltaic flow.


Result:

1)photovoltaic system converts the sun's radiation into usable electricity. It comprises the solar array and the balance of system components. PV systems can be categorized by various aspects, such as, grid-connected vs. stand alone systems, building-integrated vs. rack-mounted systems, residential vs. utility systems, distributed vs. centralized systems, rooftop vs. ground-mounted systems, tracking vs. fixed-tilt systems, and new constructed vs. retrofitted systems. Other distinctions may include, systems with microinverters vs. central inverter, systems using crystalline silicon vs. thin-film technology.

2)Grid connected system is connected to a larger independent grid (typically the public electricity grid) and feeds energy directly into the grid. This energy may be shared by a residential or commercial building before or after the revenue measurement point. The difference being whether the credited energy production is calculated independently of the customer's energy consumption (feed-in tariff) or only on the difference of energy (net metering). Grid connected systems vary in size from residential (2–10 kWp) to solar power stations (up to 10s of MWp). This is a form of decentralized electricity generation. The feeding of electricity into the grid requires the transformation of DC into AC by a special, synchronising grid-tie inverter.


Conclusion:

1)The photovoltaic had many system such as Grid connection system, stand alone system and etc. there have their own specialities. Others system will be updated in next week.

Week4: Project Tittle Confirmation And Approval by Advisor

Objective: 1) To make a suitable project tittle name.
                  2) To make a confirmation project tittle by advisor.


Method: 1)Ask advisor an opinion of my project tittle that suit with my project.
               2) Advisor key in the data project to administration .

Conclusion: My project tittle for my FYP have been prove by advisor and my advisor had key in my project tittle to the administration for the approval.

Week 3 : Find A Project Title For my FYP 1

Objective: 1) To find and search some project tittle that suitable for renewable energy course
                  2) To give some idea of the project to propose to my advisor.
                  3) To ask my advisor for an upgrade and some idea for my FYP title.

Method: 1) Search from the internet about renewable energy.
               2) Think some project that can suit for the renewable energy.
               3) Propose to my advisor about 3 tittle for my FYP and discuss which titlle is the best.

Conclusion: After all the discussion. My advisor chose Development Of Fiber Obtic Photovoltaic as                       my tittle project for FYP1.

Week 2: Finding advisor for Final Year Project

Objective: 1) To find a suitable advisor for Final Year Project.
                   2) To find advisor that suitable for my Project title that can guide me to finish my                             final year project.


Method: 1) Find the detail of the lecturer that suit to my project.
                2) Find the advisor from the electrical section.
                3) Take some advise and idea from the advisor about my project tittle.

Conclusion: After all of our discussion. my projecct have been approve and satisfied from my advisor from electrical section under renewable energy Sir Ahmad Zaki Bin Abdul Karim.

           Week1: Development of Fiber Obtics Photovoltaics
